KUED Reading Marathon Party

Jan. 22, 2011- Back in November the kids participated in a reading marathon that was sponcered by KUED. They held it at the State Fairgrounds and it was a lot of fun. There were all kinds of crafts, games, live shows, snacks, prizes, and characters to see. Max's favorite was the drum show. There was a group there that played those massive drums with the huge sticks. They dress up in grass skirts and such. Carly's favorite was all the painting and crafts. Gus's favorite was the dinosaur dig and the rocket toss where you made a little foam NASA rocket and they had a wall set up to throw them through holes to get points. Leo just liked all the candy and stickers at the tables. They gave each kid a Harmon's paper sack when we went in to carry all your loot in and they definalty filled them up! They also got to pick out a new book as a prize for completing the reading marathon. They had a bunch of old ladies manning the table and they would say, "oh, if she can't decide, just take both." And,"Here, take this one for your little brother." So, each one came home with at least two new books too! We will definatly do that one again!

And your kids aren't running around in a panic over these over sized mascots?! That is what mine would be doing :) They were always scared of them. Looks like fun!
