Swiss Days

The first weekend in September is always Swiss Days up in Midway. Since Robert and Marie have moved up there in the last month they invited everyone up to see the house and enjoy Swiss Days. Stephanie, Chelsea, me, Joey, and the kids all went up on Friday night. Joey camped out with the kids in the front yard and I went to a hotel in Park City with Steph and Chelsea. I know what you are thinking, and yes, I sound spoiled. But the reason for this is tradition. Last year Steph and I did the same thing and then ran the 10k on Saturday morning together. Last year Joey didn't come. So, we planned the whole thing again thinking that we would be going solo. So, when Joey came with the kids it wasn't that big of a deal that we split up. Plus, I didn't really want to sleep on the group the night before a race and Joey didn't want me to wake everyone up when I had to get out of the tent at 5:30am! So, it worked out fine. I razzed Robert into running it with us. He did great for his first 10k and for the fact that he hates running! Steph and I both got our best 10k times yet! I finished in 53:43 and got 12th in my age group. Steph finished in 50:53 which is smokin'! There were about 600+ runners this year.
After the race we took the kids to the parade and got lots of candy. Then dropped them off at Roberts to play with the kids while Joey, Janae, and I went to wonder in the booths. It was a fun day. Swiss Days rocks!

Cooper Boot Camp 2010

Julie and Brandon hosted a great family camp out this year in Schofield Reservoir. It was on Aug. 5th-7th. I am late on posting this because my camera inadvertently got locked in the truck on the first day of the camp out so I only got one picture. But, Janae has so kindly given us all copies of her photos and they are so cute that I had to post a few. we had a great time swimming, fishing, throwing rocks and wading in the water. Julie had lots of fun games for the kids where they got to build their own boats, shoot marshmallows at each other, make boondoggle(sp?), and eat treats from our TRE's. Despite the weird weather, everyone seemed to have a good time. Thanks for the memories all you fun lovin' Cooper's!
