Leo is here!

Leo Brent Cooper was born on Feb. 18, 2009 at 9:06pm. He weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. and is 20 in. long. We are so glad that he is here safe and sound. He is already stealing all our hearts and fitting right in with the Crazy Cooper's!

Surprise! Ready or not, I'm here! Here's the story.

About 3pm on Wednesday Feb. 18th I got a little twinge in my belly and my first thought was, "oooh, that hurt a little..." then, "Oh crap! I have a wedding cake to finish and deliver tomorrow!" I have yet to have a baby more that 2 days early, so I figured taking a job for a wedding cake 9 days before my due date would be fine. I was wrong! I spent the rest of the afternoon paying close attention to those pains to see if they would go away(...they didn't) and frantically filling, frosting, rolling fondant, and doing as much as I could on the cake. We dropped the kids off at Grandma Vonnie's at 8:30pm and went to the hospital. At that time my contractions were about 3 minutes apart and getting harder, but I could still talk between them and walk and all that. I remember the last contraction before we got out of the van starting at 8:54pm. As soon as we got inside the double doors I had a really good one then by the time we got up the stairs, down the hall, and to the receptionist desk, I had five or six in a row. As I stood at the desk checking in, my water broke and that was it. I couldn't move. They wheeled me to a delivery room and about ten minutes later at 9:06pm Leo was born! I can now say that I have given birth naturally, not by my own choice, in fact, the anesthesiologist helped deliver the baby because he was standing at the desk chatting with the nurses when we came in!

Happy Birthday to Gus!

We celebrated Gus's 2nd birthday on Feb. 8th 2009. We made him a Blues Clues cake and cookies. Since his birthday fell on a Sunday we opened presents and played before church. We went to our meeting and then to Grandma Wilson's for dinner. She so graciously agreed to have dinner at her house so I wouldn't have to do it at my house! (I so am not up to having a house full these days!) He is such a blessing in our family. He is so fun and smiley and full of life. But watch out, he's 2 now and he know's it. Here comed trouble!

I am now about 36 1/2 weeks along butthis picture was taken at 35 weeks along for those who care. I am still feeling good, but am ready to be able to breath again, and eat a regular size meal without heartburn, and sleep on my back, ect. Oh well. There's only 25 days to go! Oh, and I think the name is going to be Leo...I think.

You're Outta This World!

Here's pics of the Moon cake for Max's birthday

Happy Birthday to Max

Max decided he wanted an Outer Space theme to his birthday. About a week before his birthday, Joey took him to the Clarke Planatarium and he loved it. He therefore wanted a birthday cake shaped like the moon with astronauts on it with a little flag and a space ship too. He also decided to go back to the Planatarium on his birthday with a few friends. The day happened to fall on Martin Luther King day so he didn't have to go to school. So, we got up, had pancakes for breakfast and opened a present or two to keep him occupied. We picked up two of his friends, Luc and Calvin, and went to see the show on the dome called, "Adventures in a Cardboard Box". Then we wandered around the Planatarium for a while. Then went back to our house and opened presents from his friends and had cake and ice cream. Later we took him to McDonalds for dinner and had the family over for cake and ice cream. It was a full day and I'm glad we all made it through!

Merry Christmas!

We had a great time opening presents on Christmas morning. Carly came into our room about 8am and asked if it was morning yet. We got up and went to see if Max was up. He was and I was surprised to find him patiently waiting at the bottom of the stairs to be told he could come up. He really didn't want to ruin any chances he had with Santa. We checked out presents from Santa, then opened our gifts to each other, then played with them for a while. Our favorites are Max and his new Lego's set, Carly and her Diamond Castle Barbie's, and Gus and his Elmo blocks. I got a new coat and a food processer. Joey got season 4 of Boston Legal, and a new sweater. Then we were off to Grandma Rome's house to exchange gifts and then to Grandma Coopers for dinner.

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve this year at Grandma & Grandpa Cooper's house. It was actually pretty quiet as we and the Warner's were the only ones there. Grandma got out a project for us all to work on. She got a hand puppet set with all the characters from the Nativity on them then the kids acted out the Nativity with the puppets. It was fun and they seemed to enjoy the change of pace from the regular "dress up and act it out" nativity that we usually do.
