Grizzlies Game

Max and Carly completed the Winter reading program from the library and as a reward for doing it they both got a free ticket to a Grizzlies hockey game. We haven't taken the kids to a hockey game for a while so we decided to get grandma and grandpa to come along and call it a party. One thing that I love about my kids getting a little older is that they actually like going to things like this. Max was asking questions the whole time. So, we explained the rules to hockey and how the game it timed and how they score and he actually kept up with what was happening. They loved the train whistle that goes off when the Grizzlies score. I was a little worried about that with Leo, but it didn't really bother him, which was good. He's so easy going most of the time that I guess I'm not real surprised. My mom got a kick out of the bag that I brought, or rather the amount of stuff I was able to smuggle in. I know you aren't supposed to bring food and drink into places like that, but I am guilty of doing it every time. Let's be honest, I am as cheap as they come. Even if I had the money to buy whatever my children wanted at the consession stand(which I don't), I don't want to stand in line for the whole game and I don't want to pay the outrageous prices. So, therefore I smuggle. She claimed that everytime she turned around a little person had a new snack of a different variety. If there's one thing I hate, it's getting to a game and having to listen to the,"mom, I'm hungry," or "mom, I'm thirsty," or "mom, I want that," for the whole game. If you have kids you know where I'm coming from. This way we got to enjoy the game and have the snacks at the same time. Plus, I know for a fact, she had a peanut or two! He! He! Go Grizzlies!

When I think of a train whistle I think of a noise similiar to this... Toot! Toot!

What actually occurs at teh Grizzly games is no train whistle. It is a fog horn that sounds more like this...HOOOOOOONK! HOOOOOOOONK! HOOOOOOOONK!
Are your insides rumbling yet?
