I went to Brigham City with my mom and sister, Stephanie, to get peaches to can. As I was getting the water boiling to dip the peaches, I thought of Stacy. You see, the last three years we have canned our peaches together. In fact, she is the one that taught me how to can peaches. As I sat, alone working on my peaches, I sighed and said to myself, "I wish Stacy were here." So, I have finished my canning for the season, but would like to dedicate the following poem to my sister-in-law, Stacy Hutchinson, whom I miss dearly(and can't wait to see), especially during this time of year...
Ode to Stacy
Though the drive to get peaches was rainy and long,
The time that I've spent seems somehow wrong.
The canning is done,
peaches, grape juice, and tomatoes,
There is something missing,
I feel it from my head to my toes.
That something that's missing,
of course, it is Stacy,
But don't worry, when you return
I know you'll do your canning with me!

wow... all that canning is impressive. can you believe i have never canned anything? is it fun?
You have been hard at work - look at all those bottles waiting to be opened and eaten up.
I miss canning with you too - when I get back we will have to can like crazy to get my food storage built back up. Thanks for the poem dedicated to me - glad to know I am loved and appreciated!! You are awesome!
I can't believe that you did juice without me. I am glad that you have your shelves filled to the max. Looks great!
